The ONCE (Spanish National Blind Organisation) tickets which can be bought for Sunday's (October 26th) draw, one day after the 27th anniversary of the birth of the artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso, will feature the outside of his birthplace in the Plaza de la Merced.
This morning the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, and the ONCE director in Malaga presented the ticket which forms part of the series of tickets 'Museos de España'. There are five million tickets available and they can be bought from one of the 22,000 ONCE ticket sellers all over Spain.
Guided tours
Also coinciding with the anniversary of Picasso's birth guided visits of the Picasso birth place museum will start tomorrow giving visitors the opportunity of gaining a deeper insight into the world of the Malaga born artist.
The Lee Miller photograph exhibition and the exhibition of work by Roland Penrose in the the Picasso Foundation also form part of the calendar of events organised for this year’s Octubre Picassiano, to mark the 127th anniversary of the artist’s birth. These include a book crossing activity, concerts, the launch of the book “Cine, arte y artistas” and the presentation of the latest acquisitions made by the City Hall for the Picasso birthplace (Casa Natal).
MPM
This weekend to celebrate five years of the Malaga Picasso Museum, which opened its doors to coincide with Picasso's birthday in 2003, entrance to the museum will be free on Saturday (25th October), Sunday (26th October) and Monday (27th October) when parallel activities will include live flamenco guitar music. The MPM normally closes on a Monday but to mark the anniversary it will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the 27th.
Since it opened on the 27th of October 2003 more than 1.7 million people have visited the Malaga Picasso Museum and in the last year 340,000 people went making it the most visited art gallery in Andalucía.
