Real Madrid goalkeeper and Spanish national team captain Iker Casillas is proving himself to be an inspiration both on and off the pitch. Fresh from Spain's Euro 2008 victory five days ago, the football star travelled to Peru where he is participating in a support programme with the non-governmental organisation Plan Internacional, which strives to help children in poverty.

The star played a football match with a group of orphan children members of the NGO in the Inca citadel of Macchu Picchu on Friday, and will visit another two towns in Cusco during his trip. Casillas is being accompanied by the former sports director at Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueño.
